A partnership with Habitat for Humanity provides an opportunity for your congregation to put your faith and love into action. A faith partnership is so much more than building homes – it is about tearing down walls, volunteering in fellowship with diverse groups of people and serving God by helping others. While many churches begin their partnership with Habitat for Humanity to fulfill a desire to help others, they are delighted to discover the many ways working with Habitat for Humanity benefits them. As a Habitat for Humanity faith partner, your congregation:
- Participates in a ministry of service that has a beginning and an end
- Builds community within the congregation and all who work on a Habitat project
- Provides church members a tangible opportunity to put faith into action
- Communicates the message of being a caring and compassionate congregation called to action
Faith Partnership Opportunities:
- Build: Congregation members and church staff can volunteer on the construction of Habitat homes.
- Provide Lunches: Youth or adult service groups can support our volunteers by providing lunch on a build day.
- Raise Awareness: Your house of worship hosts Habitat representative to discuss local housing issues and raise awareness for the need for affordable housing in Central Mass.
- Raise Funds: A congregation can sponsor a house individually or join with another congregation to sponsor and build a house together.
